As the world began to emerge from the grip of COVID-19, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has caused energy and food prices to skyrocket creating a global cost of living crisis affecting billions of people. Extreme weather events are more frequent and more severe. Prolonged rainfall, forest fires, droughts, cyclones and storm surges are having a devastating impact. These combined crises are hitting the most vulnerable in our societies the hardest.
